THE BLUES CALLING
A series of multimedia workshops tackling through sound, body movement and metaphorical space issues about inequality, slavery, segregation and incarceration.
MARCH 17. 2010 – Version 1.
This piece was divided in three parts. First we gathered on a set of chairs arranged in the dimensions of a prison cell. Then, few participants joined the movement exercise which was accompanied by a anonymous prison blues, circa 1900. Simultaneously, the people sitting watched our performance and our images captured and projected live inside a moveable wall that contained a temporary drawing made out of elastics illustrating a series of rectangular spaces. Inside this rectangle we were projected to scale to appear as if we were walking on this fenced field.
