So far, she had conversations with various individuals in informal and formal locations in Cambridge MA, and Fort Bragg, CA. From these conversations, she had learned that as participants share their personal stories and philosophical views, they also exchange information, coping mechanisms, ideas for remedies and an understanding of historical traumas, state violence, human cruelty, and the injustices that are woven into the social and spatial fabric of the USA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2289\" src=\"http:\/\/studiocns.org\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2011\/05\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-22-at-2.54.17-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/studiocns.org\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2011\/05\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-22-at-2.54.17-AM.png 600w, https:\/\/studiocns.org\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2011\/05\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-22-at-2.54.17-AM-300x75.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5>Presentation at the Lost Coast Culture Machine\u2019s exhibition HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS.<\/h5>\n<h5><strong> Dec. 3, 2010 &#8211; Jan. 30th, 2011<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>During two consecutive days (Jan. 7th and 8th, 2011 \/ noon-5pm), Negrete set up the <a href=\"..\/sensible-housing-unit-shu\/\" target=\"_self\">Sensible Housing Unit<\/a> in the gallery, and began a series of one-on-one conversations with participants. Via oral history and a constellation of practical objects, sound and archives, she led an immersive experience of 40 minutes; each drawn from her first hand accounts and the society\u2019s research. Special attention was given to the particular rippling effect that invisible punishment has on those bearing its conditions today in our country.
