MARCH & MAY, 2011 | Boston, MA
Taking place at the Boston City Hall on March 11, 2011, the project consisted of Negrete performing a solo rehearsal sit-in titled Rehearsal Sit-in to Decipher an Illegible Punishment as a way to interrogate the invisible punishing machine and imagine ways to use these kinds of civic places. From this action, she created a poetic performance and speech act for the video-performance and YouTube playlist titled “Rehearsals for Future Actions” presented as the 3rd part of her Thesis Project: when the invisible punishing machine is everywhere…The Weight I Carry with Me, on May 18, 2011.
MARCH 14 / 2011: Midterm Presentation at ACT – MIT
The presentation consisted of two performance based-videos and a minimal participatory installation with the material weight where the audience was invited to touch and read.
